The US Marines are launching an investigation into a video that appears to show American soldiers urinating on dead bodies in Afghanistan. A caption beneath the video identifies the men as members of a scout sniper team assigned to 3rd Battalion, 2nd Marines, out of Camp Lejeune, N.C. The individual who posted it also remarked "I thought Marines were suppose (sic) to do the right thing when no one is watching."
Marine officials are working to confirm the men's unit and their identities, said Capt. Kendra Hardesty, a Marine spokeswoman at the Pentagon. Once that information is verified, their unit will assign an officer to conduct the investigation, she said.A Taliban spokesman described the scenes as 'barbaric.’ The short video clip features four khaki clad Marines, some in sunglasses, laughing as they urinate on three corpses. One soldier uses high-pitch comic voice as he says 'have a great day buddy.’
Pentagon officials said they could not verify the footage, but quickly launched an investigation into the film amid fears that it could damage the prospects of tentative peace talks with the Taliban and revive memories of abuses of Iraqi prisoners by American guards at the notorious Abu Graib jail.
The emergence of the footage follows the prosecution of the five soldiers of the US Army’s 5th Stryker Brigade accused of murdering Afghan civilians in Helmand province in 2010.

Though there's evidence Christie had been drinking, he was also beginning his mental deterioration, and may have merely been disoriented. One fast-food worker he interacted with that night said she thought he was suffering from Alzheimer's. Though confused (he couldn't remember his wife's or brother's phone number), Christie did inform the jail attendants of his various medical conditions, and gave them a list of the medications he was taking. He was released the next day.According to DiCello, the jail staff and the staff for Prison Health Services, the private company contracted to provide medical service to the jail, ordered no advanced physical or mental health screening for Christie before he was jailed, despite the long list of medical conditions already in his file from

Beyoncé and Jay-Z have welcomed their first child - a baby girl, it has been reported.
The music power couple have named their daughter Blue Ivy Carter, according to E! Online.
The 30-year-old singer gave birth to her daughter by scheduled caesarean section at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City last night and the website reports 'multiple sources' have confirmed the news. Beyonce has reportedly given birth to a baby girl, Ivy Blue Carter, at New York’s Lenox Hill Hospital.
Music mogul Russell Simmons has also confirmed the arrival of the bundle of joy, on Twitter.
“Congrats to my good friends Beyonce and Jay-Z,” the New York Daily News quoted him as tweeting.
According to a hospital staffer, pregnant Beyonce had checked into the upper East Side hospital on Friday night under the name “Ingrid Jackson”.

Tonight “Wizards of Waverly Place” will pull off its final magic trick and disappear.
The Disney channel show about a household of magic-users will air its series finale tonight, as the siblings on the show compete to see who will get to retain their powers and become the family wizard.The last-ever episode of Wizards of Waverly Place airs tonight, and I can safely say that I’m more emotional about it than most adult males.
I never had the Disney Channel growing up. It was a premium channel until the late ’90s, so the only glimpses I would ever get of it would be during those free preview weekends that used to happen. As a kid with plenty of entertainment options, it didn’t really seem worth it to me, even if my parents had been up for paying for it (which they weren’t).
By the time shows like Lizzie McGuire or Even Stevens started, I was in high school and far removed from the channel’s targeted demographic, even though I now live with the sad knowledge that I robbed myself of precious early moments in Shia LaBeouf history. While I have not made a comprehensive check through the archives to check this, I'm fairly sure that I have yet to write about a win this season. As such, I'm a little lost. I'm not positive as to what feelings you're supposed to be feeling after coming away with not only a win, but a win after going a goal down. That's the strangest part. We didn't just nick a lucky 3 points, we actually played for 3 points. I don't know who this Bolton team that showed a little fire an spirit was, but I liked them.
